The Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) is an independent, non-profit “Think and Do Tank” committed to providing collaborative solutions for a sustainable planet.
A team of currently approx. 50 multi- disciplinary professionals contributes to the worldwide activities of the Centre. To strengthen our team in 2023 we are offering position as Project Manager in the Sustainable Infrastructure, Products and Services (SIPS) Team. Working in close collaboration with all teams at the CSCP, SIPS core projects are around topics related to circular (bio)economy, stakeholder engagement, sustainable supply chains, sustainability product and portfolio assessments in sectors like food, retail, chemistry and textile among others.
Aufgaben
Your tasks will be
- Leading and delivering projects at strategic, management, technical, organisational, operational, administrative and financial levels
- Coordination of internal and external project groups and project partners as well as external stakeholders
- Leading project teams, human resources management at project level
- Understanding SIPS working topics, project portfolio and project opportunities, interactions among projects and with other teams
- Development of project concepts and acquisition of externally funded projects
- Research and knowledge development in related fields and trends like sustainable products, sustainable value chains, circular economy, the European Green Deal, related strategies and action plans, among others
Anforderungen
You have:
- Completed tertiary degree in a sustainability, social science, economics, engineering or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant work experience; international experience will be viewed favourably
- Experience and knowledge in sustainability areas like circular economy, sustainable value chains, stakeholder processes, sustainable production, sustainable procurement, sustainability product and portfolio assessments
- Experience in project management, in both public and/or private projects, independent project and research work, presenting and workshop facilitation
- Experience in writing proposals and/or working at public national and EU funded projects like Horizon Europe and others will be appreciated
- Working knowledge on the European political agenda is a plus
- Working experience and/or interest in working with sectors like food, retail, textile and chemical
- Team spirit and a can-do attitude
- Willingness to take responsibilities, availability to travel
- Proficiency in MS-Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Language
As English is the working language of the CSCP, fluency in written and spoken English is necessary. As the applicant might also be involved in German speaking projects, fluency in German is a plus.

Das Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) wurde 2005 gemeinsam von der Wuppertal Institut für Klima, Umwelt und Energie gGmbH (WI) und dem United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) gegründet, um eine international sichtbare Institution für wissenschaftliche Forschung, Beratungs- und Transferaktivitäten im Bereich Nachhaltiger Konsum und Produktion zu etablieren.
Als gemeinnütziger „Think- and Do-Tank“ unterstützt das CSCP in nationalen als auch internationalen Projekten Politik, Unternehmen und Zivilgesellschaft bei der Entwicklung von Nachhaltigkeitsstrategien und der Umsetzung von nachhaltigen und innovativen Ansätzen. Dabei werden stets sowohl ökologische als auch soziale Nachhaltigkeitsaspekte berücksichtigt und eine unternehmensweite Integration von Nachhaltigkeit angestrebt.
Gleichzeitig verfügt das CSCP über ein breites Erfahrungswissen in der Zusammenarbeit mit deutschen, europäischen sowie internationalen Ministerien und der Europäischen Kommission im Bereich Forschung an der Schnittstelle zwischen politischen Rahmenvereinbarungen und Strategien und deren Umsetzung in Zusammenarbeit mit Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft
