Senior HR Advisor - People & Policy (f/m/d)
you will set strategic direction within the HR function and provide expert advice to support informed decision‑making, innovation, and effective implementation in line with the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Germany organisation’s strategy, culture, and long‑term development.

Aufgaben
You will
As a team member, you will support our projects on site - without actually being there. You will be responsible for the following tasks
- Drive a holistic HR governance approach by aligning HR policies, organisational development initiatives, and administrative processes within MSF Germany’s strategic framework.
- Review and continuously develop HR policies in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders, strengthening equity, diversity, and inclusion while supporting the desired organisational culture and structure.
- Review and further develop MSF Germany's reward system, including tangible and intangible benefits, to ensure competitiveness as an employer and to support attraction, retention, and motivation of staff.
- Lead HR projects within your area of expertise in line with agreed objectives and governance structures, supporting structured change processes and the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Advise on and guide co‑determination processes in compliance with legal requirements and internal governance standards, ensuring constructive collaboration and sound decision‑making.
- Strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange with HR counterparts in similar organisations and MSF partner sections, leveraging synergies and sharing best practices across the network.
Anforderungen
You have
The following professional qualifications and personal qualities are important to us
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, including proven experience in compensation & benefits, HR policy design, job evaluation (grading) and change management.
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Experience in international or large-scale organisational HR operations.
- German: Can communicate confidently in most work situations and participate in discussion (B2 Level).
- English: Can communicate fluently and effectively in complex professional contexts (C1 Level).
- Confident use of HR information systems, compensation & benefits tools, and reporting platforms.
- Solid understanding of salary benchmarking, benefits administration, HR processes and HR policy compliance.
- Ability to advise senior management, lead HR projects, and manage stakeholder engagement across the organisation.

Die Arbeitsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen Projektdurchführung, Personalwerbung, Medien- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit sowie Fundraising. ÄRZTE OHNE GRENZEN e. V. entsendet jährlich rund 200 Mitarbeiter*innen in internationale Projekte, u.a. medizinisches Personal sowie Fachkräfte für Logistik oder Administration. Derzeit beschäftigt die Organisation in Deutschland mehr als 300 Mitarbeitende am Hauptstandort Berlin sowie in Hamburg, Köln und Mainz. Außerdem arbeiten deutschlandweit rund 120 Face-to-Face-Fundraiser*innen für Ärzte ohne Grenzen.
