Intro
Who we are
iac Berlin was founded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung to support the development of networks for social impact. As a Do & Think tank, we partner with foundations, academia, public institutions, and non-profit organizations; advise on alumni work; develop practical solutions for the design of impact-oriented networks; and initiate new forms of collaboration.
Our approach
We appreciate, enquire, and steward — we don’t manage. We base our work on theory without being dogmatic and see ourselves as part of a larger movement. We collaborate with our partners on topics such as building and curating communities, coalitions, and ecosystems.
Within this scope, we have developed our ability to listen, make sense, question, design, co-host, and incubate.
Bosch Alumni Network
Since the founding of iac Berlin in 2017, one of our central areas of work has been the coordination of the Bosch Alumni Network, which connects almost 10,000 former and current fellows, grantees, partners, and employees of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and supports them as agents of change in their communities.
The network contributes to an open, just, and sustainable world by convening diverse perspectives, enabling knowledge sharing, and empowering members to take collective action. With a decentralized structure and communities based on topics and regions, the network brings together members with shared interests and diverse backgrounds from over 200 programs and around 140 countries.
Each year, members contribute to the network’s mission through more than 100 activities worldwide.
Who we are looking for
We are looking to fill the position of
Senior Coordinator (gn) – Network Development & Engagement
as soon as possible. The position is 80% (32 hours per week) and is initially offered for two years, with the intention to extend.
We are looking for a colleague who is excited to shape this field-building work with us and contribute to the continued development of iac Berlin.
This is a senior role within the Bosch Alumni Network team, focused on shaping the network’s development, strengthening community engagement, and amplifying the impact of our work. You will help design and develop network activities and translate them into compelling formats and stories that highlight the work and contributions of our members. At the same time, you will explore new ways to strengthen participation, collaboration, and visibility across the network.
You will work closely with the team while also having significant room to develop, test, and implement your own ideas. Our strategic plan provides direction while leaving space to explore new opportunities and initiatives that help the network grow.
Together, we gather insights and learnings from our practice. We co-create communities of practice around impact-oriented networks and contribute to transforming how philanthropy engages with fellows, grantees, and partners.
Aufgaben
Your role will include
- Shaping and strengthening our work on network development by designing and facilitating meaningful engagement opportunities (online, hybrid, and in-person) that strengthen connections, collaboration, and knowledge exchange across the network.
- Supporting members who co-create the Bosch Alumni Network in decentralized roles, including thematic and regional groups, by providing guidance, quality assurance, and administrative support for network-driven initiatives.
- Developing and implementing approaches to communicate the impact of our work, in close collaboration with the Head of Communications and external partners, translating initiatives and collaborations into compelling stories and formats.
- Contributing to the strategic communication of our activities, including the co-development of engagement formats and communication initiatives around the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Bosch Alumni Network.
- Co-shaping the strategic development of the Bosch Alumni Network together with the coordination team and network members, while documenting and sharing insights and learnings with the wider philanthropic field.
While remote working is commonplace for us, we also believe that in-person collaboration is vital to our work. Therefore, we would prefer a candidate who is already based in Berlin or willing to relocate.
