Intro

traceless is a young company - with a big vision: a future free of pollution and waste! Our award-winning company was founded in Hamburg in 2020 by our female founding duo Anne and Johanna. By now we are a diverse team from different disciplines, ages and twelve nationalities, united by our common mission: to contribute to solving plastic pollution and build the regenerative industry of the future. To achieve this, we are working to bring our materials to market quickly and to build our first large-scale production facility in Hamburg-Harburg.

Aufgaben

We are tackling global plastic pollution - and you will be a part of the solution!

With our innovative technology, we turn plant leftovers of the agricultural industry into a novel sustainable biomaterial - biobased, plastic-free, and compostable. A material that leaves no harmful traces. With this, we want to replace as many plastics as possible, and this is where you come in.

As Senior Application Engineer (f/m/x) you will help us to further optimize and develop our traceless converting technologies. With your experience in paper coating (dispersion and/or extrusion) or film extrusion processes, you will help our customers convert our traceless material on their machines. You will help them to enable a transition to use traceless products for a maximum array of applications to make the biggest possible contribution to solving global plastic pollution. As part of your tasks

  1. You lead the technical portion of customer projects for the development of traceless products
  2. You develop processing concepts, lead laboratory tests in our facilities, and communicate technical and project-related information to internal and external stakeholders
  3. You lead production tests in collaboration with our partners for the application of traceless materials on their machines
  4. You help us gain an even deeper understanding of our materials as they are used in converting machines to understand their potential for optimization
  5. You identify opportunities to optimize our material properties while maintaining their unique, holistic sustainability
  6. You share your knowledge about the processing of our material and ideas on how to improve the production with our production and quality teams

You will spend your working days in an innovative work environment with start-up flair in our laboratory in Buchholz i.d.N., south of Hamburg.

Anforderungen

  1. You have a degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science, polymer science, or similar with an applied research mindset.
  2. You have at least 5 years of technical experience in the (bio)polymer converting industry with a specialization in paper extrusion, dispersion paper coating, or film extrusion.
  3. You have a sound technical understanding of thermoplastic processes as well as (bio)polymer structures, interactions, processing techniques, and polymer compounds.
  4. You have experience in Product Packaging, Methodologies, and Processes.
  5. You have proven leadership abilities, including cross-functional collaboration, with a track record of successfully leading projects from concept to implementation.
  6. You have a hands-on mentality and like to find pragmatic solutions to challenges.
  7. You have a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset and can work independently and in teams.
  8. You think innovatively, are open-minded with a sense of humor.
  9. You are proficient in both spoken and written English (and ideally German - we will be happy to support you here).

Don't you meet every requirement? We would still like to hear from you - you might be just the right person for this or other roles!
