Intro
We are tackling global plastic pollution - and you will be a part of the solution!
With our innovative technology, we turn plant leftovers of the agricultural industry into a novel sustainable biomaterial - biobased, plastic-free, compostable and with significantly less emissions! A material that leaves no harmful traces. With this, we want to replace as many plastics as possible to maximize our impact, and this is where you come in.
As the Strategy Responsible for Impact, Sustainability and ESG, you will be instrumental in continuing to shape our approach to these critical issues that are at the core of traceless DNA. Your expertise will help us to optimize our measurable environmental, social, and economic value while aligning with global best practices and communicating to all stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive systemic change, lead sustainability processes, and inspire stakeholders both within and outside the company. In this position, you will fill the following roles:
- Lead our Sustainability Vision: Refine our comprehensive sustainability strategy that influences company-wide initiatives.
- Strategic Integration: Continue to embed sustainability and ESG principles into core business processes, ensuring alignment with emerging global standards.
- Impact Intelligence: Provide data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to maximize our positive environmental and social impact.
- ESG Compliance: Safeguard our adherence to regulatory frameworks, ensuring we meet certification standards and sustainability guidelines.
- Impact Communication: Craft compelling narratives that communicate complex sustainability data to customers and stakeholders, enhancing our brand reputation.
- Public Affairs (optional): If you have an affinity for it, we would love to hear how you could support our advocacy efforts through monitoring upcoming regulations and political strategies, advocating for beneficial regulatory and political frameworks and building strong stakeholder alliances
Aufgaben
Your responsibilities are
Strategic Leadership:
- Continuously evolve our sustainability and ESG roadmap, integrating it into the company’s overall strategy and support our groups in its implementation.
- Oversee our focus areas for impact (e.g., environmental footprint, social benchmarks) and set clear, measurable sustainability goals.
- Stay ahead of global sustainability trends, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations (e.g., CSRD) and anticipating future regulatory shifts.
- Provide strategic insights to inform decisions on technology, market direction, and ESG-related initiatives.
Sustainability Management:
- Lead life cycle assessments (LCA) to evaluate product and operational impacts, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Establish and enforce sustainability governance across the company, including environmental guidelines and greenwashing safeguards.
- Identify opportunities to improve our environmental performance, optimizing sustainability across all operations
ESG Reporting:
- Manage the preparation of ESG reports for investors, ensuring compliance with frameworks like the GHG Protocol, EU Taxonomy and EU regulations.
- Oversee data collection, reporting, and transparency efforts to maintain credibility with stakeholders.
- Develop and implement communication strategies that effectively convey sustainability progress both internally and externally.
Team Leadership:
- Cultivate a sustainability-driven culture within the organization, empowering teams to incorporate environmental consciousness into their work.
- Serve as a Cultural Ambassador, inspiring teams and aligning their efforts with the company’s sustainability goals.
- Closely collaborate with our colleagues leading auditing processes, certification maintenance, and transparent ESG disclosures, reinforcing trust with stakeholders.
Anforderungen
Your Profile
- Education: A degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in sustainability strategy or ESG reporting, or environmental impact assessment, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in life cycle assessments (LCA), ESG frameworks (e.g., CSRD, GHG Protocol), and regulatory compliance.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis capabilities to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Leadership: Experience in fostering collaboration, and driving organizational alignment.
- Communication: Ability to distill complex sustainability concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Languages: Fluency in English and German
