Aeco ist ein Climate-Tech-Start-up, das Europas führender privater Entwickler und Finanzierer von Moorrestaurrierungs-Projekten werden will. Wir verbinden ökologische Wirkung mit marktwirtschaftlicher Skalierung – indem wir Restaurierung, Finanzierung und digitale Tools vereinen.

Warum? Weil Moore nur 3 % der Landfläche bedecken, aber fast 30 % des globalen Bodenkohlenstoffs speichern. Und weil die entwässerten und degradierten Moore 5 % der weltweiten Treibhausgasemissionen verursachen. Ihre Restaurierung ist eine der effektivsten Klimaschutzmaßnahmen überhaupt.

Aeco is a start-up working to become one of the leading private, collaborative developers and financiers of peatland restoration projects across Europe and beyond.

Peatlands cover just 3% of land but store nearly 30% of global soil carbon. When drained, they release ~5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Restoring them is one of the most powerful climate solutions—while also protecting biodiversity and water systems.

In a sector dominated by subsidies and slow public processes, aeco brings private-sector speed and collaboration. Aeco accelerates peatland restoration by combining restoration expertise, private finance, and digital tools. We build a platform where:

1. Land stewards get long-term payments for climate protection—at no cost and with continued cultivation options.
2. Corporates access local, transparent, high-quality carbon and potentially biodiversity credits.
3. Investors tap into a verified green asset class.
4. Restoration partners scale their impact through joint development, funding, and monitoring.

With first projects implemented and plenty more in the pipeline we deliver projects from sourcing to financing, certification, and monitoring— in a standardized, digital-first, and third-party validated way. Our objective is to restore at least 50.000 ha by 2030, scaling further in the 2030s.

Wir suchen eine*n Planer*in mit Talent für Projektmanagement, die/der unsere Wiedervernässungsprojekte operativ voranbringt.

Du arbeitest an der Schnittstelle von hydrologischer Modellierung, technischer Planung und Genehmigung und sorgst dafür, dass Projekte strukturiert, nachvollziehbar und effizient umgesetzt werden.

Du übersetzt hydrologische Szenarien in klare technische Ausschreibungen, steuerst externe Planungsbüros, koordinierst Genehmigungsprozesse und hältst alle Fäden in der Hand, damit Projekte reibungslos laufen.

Diese Rolle ist ideal für Menschen, die Dinge gern in Bewegung bringen, Struktur schaffen und technische Inhalte in handhabbare Prozesse überführen — und das alles für echten Klimaschutz.

Technische Planung & Ausschreibungen

1. Unterstützung bei Erstellung der technischen Vorplanung
2. Erstellung, Strukturierung und Standardisierung technischer Ausschreibungsunterlagen
3. Aufbau eines wiederverwendbaren Maßnahmen--Katalogs und Einbindung in unsere digitale Prozesskette (QGIS, Portfolio-Management-Software)
4. Qualitätsprüfung technischer Planungsunterlagen externer Büros

Projektmanagement & Partnersteuerung

1. Steuerung externer Planungs- und Fachbüros
2. Aufbau strategischer Partnerschaften mit selektierten Büros in allen Ländern
3. Organisation von Abstimmungen, Zeitplänen und Meilensteinen
4. Strukturierung und Pflege projektbezogener Dokumentation

Genehmigungsmanagement

1. Vorbereitung genehmigungsrelevanter Unterlagen (wasserrechtlich, naturschutzfachlich etc.)
2. Koordination externer Gutachter und Behördenkontakte
3. Aufbau standardisierter Textbausteine und Dokumentmodule

Strukturierung & Prozessentwicklung

We are looking for a planner with strong project management talent to drive our rewetting projects forward operationally.

You will work at the intersection of hydrological modeling, technical planning, and permitting, ensuring that projects are implemented in a structured, transparent, and efficient way.

You translate hydrological scenarios into clear technical tenders, manage external planning firms, coordinate permitting processes, and keep all the threads together so that projects run smoothly.

This role is ideal for people who enjoy getting things moving, creating structure, and turning technical content into manageable processes — all in support of real climate impact.

Technical Planning & Tender Documents

1. Support the preparation of technical pre-planning.
2. Create, structure, and standardize technical tender documents.
3. Build a reusable catalogue of restoration measures and integrate it into our digital process chain (QGIS, portfolio management software).
4. Quality-check technical planning documents produced by external firms.

Project Management & Partner Steering

1. Manage external planning and specialist consulting firms.
2. Build strategic partnerships with selected firms across all countries.
3. Organize alignments, timelines, and milestones.
4. Structure and maintain project-related documentation.

Permitting Management

1. Prepare permitting-relevant documentation (water law, nature conservation, etc.).
2. Coordinate external expert assessors and contacts with authorities.
3. Build standardized text blocks and document modules.

Structuring & Process Development

1. Contribute to building scalable, максимально digital processes for planning and permitting.
2. Reporting and project tracking.

Was du mitbringst

1. Ausbildung oder Studium in einem technischen, planerischen oder naturwissenschaftlichen Bereich (z. B. Bauingenieurwesen, Umweltplanung, Landschaftsplanung, Wasserwirtschaft etc.)
2. Mindestens 3 Jahre Erfahrung in technischer Planung, Landschaftsbau, Wasserbau oder Projektmanagement
3. Erfahrung in Genehmigungsverfahren oder Zusammenarbeit mit Behörden
4. Erfahrung mit Ausschreibungen oder technischen Leistungsbeschreibungen
5. Gute GIS-Kenntnisse Strukturierte und zuverlässige Arbeitsweise
6. Freude daran, mit externen Partnern zusammenzuarbeiten und Prozesse zu koordinieren
7. Interesse an und Erfahrung in Klima-, Naturschutz- oder Moor-Themen (Expertise mit Moor- und/oder anderen Restaurierungsprojekten ist ein Plus)
8. Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse, da wir auch international arbeiten

What you bring to aeco

1. Education or degree in a technical, planning, or natural science field (e.g., civil engineering, environmental planning, landscape planning, water management, etc.).
2. At least 3 years of experience in technical planning, landscaping/landscape construction, hydraulic engineering, or project management.
3. Experience with permitting procedures and/or working with public authorities.
4. Experience with tendering processes and/or writing technical specifications / scopes of work.
5. Solid GIS skills.
6. A structured and reliable way of working.
7. Enjoyment of collaborating with external partners and coordinating processes.
8. Interest in and experience with climate, nature conservation, or peatland topics (expertise in peatland and/or other restoration projects is a plus).
9. Very good German and English skills, as we also work internationally.
