Senior Legal Counsel (gn)

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an unlimited contract duration. Employment location will be Bonn or Berlin, Germany.

As

Senior Legal Counsel*,

you will provide in-house legal advice to Welthungerhilfe. You will independently and comprehensively manage the organisation's legal affairs at Head Office and programme country level, including the identification and management of legal risks. You will work in a very international team in a highly interesting and dynamic environment. You will work in cross-functional teams on extremely diverse legal topics and challenges and a lot of direct insight and contact in our programme countries.

1. Independent legal advice in all legal areas relevant to the global organisation, in particular in general contract law, corporate law, consortium and project contract drafting, dispute resolution
2. Providing internal legal advice to the organisation in various legal areas
3. Independent legal drafting and negotiation of contracts
4. Independent preparation and implementation of legal training within the organization
5. Legal support for programme country activities and specialist departments
6. Preparation and maintenance of contract templates
7. Management of external law firms

1. A degree in law in a European or Anglo-American legal system
2. At least 5 years of relevant international work experience
3. High level of social competence, negotiation skills, persuasiveness, and a high degree of self-organization
4. Analytical, networked and structured thinking, as well as solution-oriented, pragmatic and creative working style
5. Ability to work calmly and deliberately even under high pressure
6. Interest to travel to program countries
7. Very good verbal and written English language skills, further language skills relevant to the organization (e.g. German, French) are desirable
8. High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other standard office software tools
9. You recognize the growing value of data in your field and are eager to build your awareness and skills to incorporate data-informed approaches into your work
