Data Engineer (gn)

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an unlimited contract duration. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.

We are the fairly new Data Analytics & AI (D&A) team. In collaboration with colleagues from all areas of our organization, we develop solutions and approaches in the large cosmos of advanced analytics. Our strategic focus is on data-based learning.

Our challenges as an NGO are special: your stakeholders may be part of the donor service in Bonn or project managers in our 37 project countries. On the ground, hurdles such as power cuts or a lack of internet connections can make data collection difficult. It's not always easy, but it is challenging. Are you up for it? 1. You actively shape the design and development of data analytics and AI solutions based on cloud technologies
2. For the joint development of analytical products with the business department, you will manage collaboration in agile and interdisciplinary teams to transform data into insights
3. You guide colleagues from the department, set standards for the use of our products and solutions and, like everyone in the team, are a data ambassador for the organization
4. You identify use cases, develop their technical conception and implementation through to operation and implement the associated data pipelines including visualizations in dashboards
5. Together with our Data Architect, you will develop a sustainable infrastructure and data pipelines to supply analytical products from different data sources, including the implementation of a data protection concept
6. You are also willing to pass on your experience to colleagues and specialist departments

1. You have a university or College degree, ideally in (business) informatics, data science, (business) mathematics, software engineering or a comparable field of study
2. You convince us with your personality: your passion for the topic of data analysis paired with your will to move the organization forward together with us
3. You enjoy working in a team, take responsibility for your own tasks and express your opinion
4. Thanks to your quick comprehension and strong analytical thinking, you are also willing to take on new tasks
5. You are service-oriented, proactive and communicative, have high quality standards, but do not lose sight of your goal and work analytically and quickly with fun on creative solutions
6. You have very good SQL knowledge - in addition, experience with the Azure Tool Stack, MS Fabric and MS PowerBI would make it easier for you to get started
7. If you have already gained experience in the design and implementation of various interfaces (including REST APIs), that would be a plus
8. You already have knowledge of data modeling of analytical databases (dimensional modeling, data vault)
9. You have advanced knowledge of common architectures and processes in data processing (e.g. ETL / ELT)
10. You are fluent in English, as Welthungerhilfe works in almost 40 countries - French is not a must, but a plus
